My Notes and Appreciation to Sze Wing's work, and the compilation of photos by Tam Yuen Yin, Au si mi and Lo chi ming .

The trip back to HK in May /June has been enriched with the friendship enlightened by the old time ideals --not the status symbols and temptation of other kind , but the care of each other, voluntary participation and sharing.

In HKU, the singing rehearsal as insisted by MK and Helen, the seriousness and the skill of Lee mei yin and Woo chung ho had obviously surpassed the amateur nature of Fong Kwok wing , Au Yeung and myself .

A week before the Night , Kwong Mei Ling and Tong Kam Hung have already got the first flag from Au si mi and showed it publicly in a Restaurant before they carried another dozens to the friends in Canada.

On the night, Leung Chi Kwan and Tam Yin Mui were on the registration duty stand and kept asking the odd question : “ Have you paid for everything ?”

As a result of the insistence by Hester and her mate on the display of the SST banner , Kwok wah, Au yeung and myself followed completely to the instruction .

Leung Ping Chung was so kind to say that Operation Concern was related to the SST events in his youth. Li Shu Cheung delivered his humour and confidence , apparently still keeping the quality of being the chairman of two terms .

Wo Kam Sang, the courageous man of the night , standing shoulder to shoulder with Au si mi, spoke only when desperately required.

Wu Sau wan should be the only speaker that listened to Si mi, and had properly prepared for the presentation, with details of friendship which many members have not disclosed.

Lee Wing Bun and Wu Chung Ho are in the Engineering field and academics in the Poly-Uni. Cheung Yan Hong and Lee Yue cheung have reminded me of the construction profession of HK that I have missed , and we have at least two Fellow members in the important building field.

Kwan Pun Fong should be the last one to enter that evening, shortly after Cho Chi On to show their support to the old acquaintance.

Tung Yuk Ying and Tung Cheung Shing , were very energetic and cheerful, but obviously deprived of the desire to speech due to the absence of Alex.

Ching Cheong still carries on his enthusiasm in the grass root and would not stay away an inch from the devotion of democracy , with Mun yee fully supportive in looking after his mum’s health.

On Po Toi ( still looking for the village kids ? ), it must be the old value and the companion that have haunted the men , the trip totally delivered and organised by Chan Kow Tak , and was successfully supplemented by Lau Kam Lin's extravagant seafood lunch.

Of course, Siu Kin and Suzie found the treasure sign on the top of the old concrete step , the fading triangular symbol delicately composed of small pieces of China , the youthful spirit that have braved the waves and tides for thirty odd years , the old pier is surprisingly still in satisfactory working conditions.

Lots of photos were again consumed in a matter of seconds as memories of those cool summer water began to dissipate again.

The Cheng’s, Irene, and Wu Tin Chi—the devoted man with the camera for 40 years, made the strong representation from Canada. More Aussie related gangs were disclosed, as Yeung Gun Hoi and Ng Yuet Yin admitted their affiliation. Ng Yuet Wah , the capable and devoted social work researcher seems to be the only member from UK .

On the way back , there were more singings, Pang Yau Ping ,Chan Tin –mum , Fung Ping But and Master Cheung Fook Tin eventually sang .
Then, Cheng Chi kin had boldly made invitations, with some good faith but fell short of substance to form an offer, to look after the members whoever would come to Sydney.

Afterwards , Lim Ding ,Leung Ping Chung and others went to see Leung King Fu who was reportedly in good health .

Then Chan Kwok Tai, missing the mass, tried very hard to fulfill his commitment by rushing back with his son ( ?), and wandering around the territory hoping the crowds can hang on a few more days. He was caringly accompanied by Ha Siu Pang – who must have kindly developed the habit of looking after overseas mates .

Lim Ding is trying to practice Tai Chi in HK and is probably looking for more comrades than Chan Yuen Kwong .

It is lucky in this reunion to have the influence of Lee Chack Fun, Yeung Chung Kee, etc which would not be available in future.

SST has many problems , as we have Li Sze wing's voice problem, Sung Kong's eye problem , Siu Kin’s hearing problem . And members health would be in the descending track .

Looking forward , I think it would be mutually beneficial if we would look into the possibility to participate ( as visitor ) on organisations developed by respective members :
1. Operation Concern---Leung Ping Chung, Chan Kow Tak
2. Fu Hui Charity Foundation ----Lee Cheuk Fun, Lee Mei Yin
3. Leung Shung Yu also mentioned his school works in China
It would be nice to hear more from them.

I would also like to show again Cheuk Fun's Aspirations. I find the words referred to are relevant and very helpful indeed.
